House rendering
in Bardsey.

A different render finish should work with the details you want to keep. For a Bardsey project, we discuss the existing walls, retained materials and colour before agreeing a suitable scope.

The existing walls come first

Keep the character of the retained materials.

If your house combines render with brick, stone or decorative details, decide what should remain visible before the work is priced. The edges around those materials, windows and rooflines need deliberate detailing; rendering everything is not the only way to change the exterior.

Colour and texture deserve a practical discussion. A small sample can look different across a large wall, in shade or beside existing masonry. Agree the proposed finish and review an appropriate sample rather than choosing solely from a screen image.

The finish still depends on the wall underneath. We assess old coatings, previous patches and signs of movement or moisture before recommending a render system. Retained details do not remove the need for sound preparation at their junctions.

  1. 01

    Identify what stays exposed

Discuss brick or stone features, decorative bands, sills and roof details before defining the rendered area.

  2. 02

    Review colour and texture

Consider the proposed finish beside the actual retained materials and agree samples and specification as part of the quotation.

  3. 03

    Plan protection and junctions

Include protection of retained surfaces and detailing at openings, edges and fixtures in the scope.

A clear scope.
A useful quotation.

A quotation for Bardsey should be based on the property and a defined scope, rather than a universal town rate. Check the preparation and access allowances as well as the finish.

Homeowner questions

Do you take on rendering work in Bardsey?

Yes, we accept rendering enquiries in Bardsey. The next step is to discuss the property, current wall condition and proposed scope, then confirm availability.

Can stone or brick details stay exposed?

Yes, retained features can be included in the design of the scope. Their edges and protection need planning, and the wall condition must still support the proposed render specification.

How should I choose a render colour?

Consider the roof, windows and retained masonry together. Review an appropriate physical sample where possible and agree the finish before installation; photographs and screens can alter its appearance.

Can old patches be hidden by a thin topcoat?

A decorative topcoat is not a substitute for correcting loose material, unsuitable coatings or unresolved defects. The assessment determines what preparation or replacement is needed.
