Sand and Cement Render Removal and Silicone Rendering in Harrogate

This property in Harrogate is currently undergoing a complete exterior render refurbishment after the original sand and cement render had become tired, cracked and unsuitable for overcoating.

The failed render was carefully removed back to the original brickwork, allowing the exposed walls to be inspected and properly prepared before the new render system was installed.

Once the masonry had been cleaned and primed, we began spray applying and ruling the first scratch coat. This forms the first stage of a two-coat mesh-reinforced basecoat system designed to create a strong, stable background for the final finish.

The next stage will involve applying the second basecoat with fibreglass reinforcement mesh embedded throughout the surface. Once fully cured, the walls will be primed before a coloured silicone render topcoat is professionally spray applied.

The completed system will provide a clean, modern exterior with a breathable, flexible and water-repellent finish.
