The original condition
A cracked finish unsuitable for overcoating.
The existing sand and cement render had become tired and cracked. It was removed back to the brickwork rather than being used as the background for another coating.

Work recorded before the finishing coats.
Remove and prepare
The failed material was removed and the exposed walls inspected, cleaned and prepared.
Prime and basecoat
After priming the background, work began on spraying and ruling the first scratch coat. Further reinforcement, curing, primer and silicone finishing remained to be completed.
