Spray Cork Over Existing Walls
Spray cork can be applied to a range of properly prepared exterior surfaces, including masonry, existing render and previously coated walls.
Before recommending application, we inspect the property for loose render, cracks, water penetration, unstable coatings and other defects. Spray cork should only be applied once the underlying surface has been made sound.
Where the existing render remains firmly bonded, it may be possible to repair damaged areas and prepare the surface rather than removing the entire exterior finish.
Once the walls are stable, they are cleaned, repaired and primed before the spray cork coating is applied evenly across the elevations.

Preparation
Windows, doors, roofs, paving and surrounding surfaces are carefully protected. Loose render and unstable coatings are removed. Cracks and damaged areas are repaired before the walls are cleaned and prepared.

Application

Sign-off & clean-down

No. Conventional external wall insulation normally involves fixing thick insulation boards or another layer of insulation material to the exterior walls before covering them with render or cladding.
Spray cork is a much thinner thermal wall coating. It adds minimal thickness and can improve wall performance, but it will not provide the same thermal resistance as a substantially thicker insulation-board system.
The correct option depends on the property, required improvement, available space and budget.
The improvement depends on the existing wall construction, condition, application thickness and complete system used.
Manufacturer testing has reported meaningful reductions in heat transfer through certain treated walls, but the same result should not be guaranteed for every property.
