OUR STORY

Why We Created Recently Rendered

Recently Rendered was created to provide property owners with a more focused and dependable exterior rendering service.

Rendering is often treated as only the final decorative coat. In reality, the condition of the existing walls, the preparation beneath the finish and the compatibility of the materials are what determine whether a system performs properly.

Our approach is therefore built around completing the full process correctly. We inspect the existing walls, explain any defects we find and recommend the most suitable preparation and render system for the property.

This may involve retaining and preparing sound existing render, completing local repairs, removing failed pebbledash or hacking an unsuitable finish back to the original masonry.

Only once the background is properly prepared do we install the selected silicone, monocouche or cork finish.

MODERN THIN-COAT SYSTEMS

Silicone render creates a breathable, flexible and water-repellent exterior finish. Installed over a properly prepared and mesh-reinforced basecoat, it provides a clean and consistent appearance in a wide choice of colours. Silicone render is particularly suitable for full-property refurbishments, extensions and homeowners wanting a modern exterior with reduced maintenance requirements.

Monocouche-Render

THROUGH-COLOURED FINISHES

Monocouche Rendering Monocouche is a through-coloured mineral render with a traditional scraped texture. It is commonly used on extensions, new-build properties and full exterior refurbishments where a thicker, more traditional rendered appearance is required. The colour is incorporated throughout the render, meaning the completed surface does not require immediate exterior painting.

Cork-Render

BREATHABLE CORK COATINGS

Cork Rendering and Spray Cork Spray cork is a breathable and flexible exterior wall coating containing natural cork granules. It can be used to refurbish many properly prepared surfaces, including existing render, masonry and suitable pebbledash. The finished coating creates an attractive textured appearance while also providing weather-resistant, thermal and acoustic properties.

OUR APPROACH

Good rendering starts beneath the surface

Exterior rendering should never be treated as simply covering over an existing problem.

Cracking, blown render, water penetration and unstable backgrounds must be investigated before a new finish is applied. Covering failed render may temporarily improve its appearance, but it will not restore the bond between the render and the wall.

Our team assesses each elevation and explains whether the existing surface can be repaired and retained or whether more extensive removal is required.

Depending on the property, our work may include

  • Removing loose, hollow or failed render
  • Hacking old pebbledash back to brickwork
  • Repairing damaged masonry and cracks
  • Installing corner, stop and bellcast beads
  • Applying reinforced basecoat systems
  • Embedding fibreglass reinforcement mesh
  • Priming the prepared surface
  • Spray applying the selected exterior finish
  • Completing a full inspection and clean-down

How we work

A clear process from
survey to completion

Every project is planned around the property, the existing walls and the finish you want to achieve.

01

Property survey

We inspect the exterior walls, identify defects and discuss your preferred appearance, colour and finish. Where photographs provide enough information, we may be able to offer initial guidance before arranging a site visit.

02

Written quotation

You receive a clear quotation explaining the proposed preparation, render system and work included. Scaffolding, waste removal and other project requirements will be identified where applicable.

03

Preparation and application

The surrounding property is carefully protected before cleaning, repairs and preparation begin. The specified basecoat, reinforcement, primer and final render finish are then professionally installed.

04

Inspection and clean-down

The completed elevations are inspected and finishing details are completed. Masking and protection are removed before the surrounding work area is thoroughly cleaned.

Yes. Where the existing render or pebbledash has become loose, hollow or extensively damaged, we can remove it back to a stable background.

The exposed brickwork or blockwork is then inspected, repaired and prepared before the new render system is installed.

Complete removal is not always necessary, so the existing walls must be assessed before work is recommended.

In some cases, yes.

Existing render may be retained where it remains stable, firmly bonded and compatible with the proposed system.

Loose, hollow and damaged sections must be removed and repaired first. The walls may also require cleaning, reinforcement, primer or a complete new basecoat.

Scaffolding is normally required for upper-storey rendering and complete-property refurbishments.

We can coordinate the scaffolding required for the project or clearly identify the requirements within the quotation.

Access arrangements will be discussed before work begins.

Yes. We provide free quotations for suitable rendering and exterior wall refurbishment projects.

You can begin by sending photographs of the property, including wider photographs of each elevation and close-ups of any damaged areas.
